ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
ALZHEIMER'S IS A DISEASE THAT MAKES A PERSON HAVE PROBLEMS WITH HIS OR HER MEMORY, JUDGEMENT AND HOW HE IS HE THINKS.
It makes it hard for a person to do any work or even play because they can't remember how. Some people with Alzheimer's will have a change in their mood or even in their personality.
SIGNS OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE
Early signs
- Forgetful
- Cannot pay attention
- Mood swings
- Trouble learning and remembering anything new
- Cannot say what they are thinking
- Does not want to meet new people or do new things.
Later Signs
- Severe memory loss
- Gets very angry
- Does not trust anyone
- Cannot concentrate
- Cannot finish chores
- Cannot take care of self-like 'taking a bath or brushing teeth
- Cannot do simple tasks
WHAT TO-DO
There is no cure for Alzheimer's Disease and here is no way to keep from getting it But-there are some medicines and treatments that can help.
- Find out If it Is really Alzheimer's Disease, See -the family doctor
- Ask the family doctor what can be done to help.
- Be a good listener
- Do not hurry the person when he or she is trying to talk or do something
- Do not get mad at the person even if they get mad
- Try to include the person in all the same activities as they were before.
- If you are taking care of a person with Alzheimer's, learn as much as you can about the disease. Share what you learn with others and have a good attitude about the person with the disease.
